Salman Khan breaks his silence over Arbaaz Khan's IPL betting scandalJuly 3 (AZINS) In June this year, Bollywood actor and filmmaker Arbaaz Khan admitted to have participated in IPL betting and also confessed to have known IPL bookie Jalan for last six years. At that time Salman Khan was busy with his Eid release, 'Race 3' and remained mum on the matter.

Arbaaz Khan was summoned by the Thane police where he also recorded his statement. In his statement, Dabangg actor also confirmed 'D' bookie link in the scandal. Prominent bookie Sonu Jalan alias Sonu Batla was arrested on April 31 in connection with the Indian Premier League (IPL) betting racket and he was the one who named Arbaaz Khan and Sajid Khan.

In an recent interview to Filmfare, Arbaaz's superstar brother Salman talked about how fame and stardom with a cost. Salman told the film magazine," When Arbaaz (Khan) was summoned (IPL betting case), I had to attend the Race 3 press conference. You can’t show what you’re going through. People, who’ve taken time out to watch you on TV or on social media, are there to enjoy. You can’t be depressed while promoting a film. That’s a battle that one will always have to fight. Personally, you could be down and out but you can’t ever show it.”

Salman Khan further added, “That can also go against you. Like some judge or a public prosecutor or some people will judge you saying, his verdict is coming up but he’s busy laughing and joking. But this is my job. I have to do this no matter what my parents, my family, my friends and I are going through.”

On June 2, Arbaaz was summoned by the Anti Extortion Cell and confronted with a prominent bookie Sonu Jalan who was arrested and remanded five days ago, besides four other bookies nabbed late last month. Arbaaz had not only admitted to betting in the IPL for more than five years but also admitted to have lost Rs 2.75 crores in it. Reports also suggest that in his statement, Arbaaz Khan confessed that his ex-wife Malaika Arora Khan was aware of his unlawful habit and it eventually lead to his divorce.
