Akshay Kumar introduces us to the cast of 'Gold', one poster at a time!July 5 (AZINS) Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar took to social media on July 5 to introduce the pivotal characters of his upcoming film, 'Gold'. He shared first look posters of Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal and Vineet Singh.

Akshay plays the role of Tapan Das in the film, who wishes to win India’s first gold medal in hockey as an independent nation. He coaches the team for the 1948 Olympics in London, inspiring the athletes to make a mark against the British on their own turf. While Mouni Roy will be seen playing Akshay's wife in the film, Kunal Kapoor will be playing the coach and Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal and Vineet Singh will be seen as hockey players.

While sharing debutant Mouni Roy's look, he wrote, "Meet Mrs. Monobina Das, my wife."

Sharing insights into the bond he shares with the coach, Kunal Kapoor, Akshay tweeted, "A brother, a friend and the coach of the dream team. Meet Samrat."

Further highlighting the key attributes of his player Amit Sadh, Akshay shared, "When he starts playing, the opposition becomes the spectator. Meet Raghubir Pratap Singh."

Akshay introduced Vineet Singh's character as, "A true leader and a great player. Meet Imtiaz."

Introducing Sunny Kaushal, Akshay wrote, "Iske sirf naam mein hi nahi, game mein bhi bohot Himmat hain! Meet Himmat Singh."

The film has been shot across the UK and India, capturing the fascinating aspects of the pre-independent era. ‘Gold’ not only marks the first ever association between Akshay Kumar and Excel Entertainment led by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar but also is the debut of TV sensation Mouni Roy.

Gold is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, helmed by Reema Kagti and is all set to release on August 15th, 2018.
