On Friday the 13th, here are eight movies 'fans of fright' must look forward toJuly 13 (AZINS) The first half of 2018 has seen some brilliantly bone-chilling horror movies. From the classy, award-bait performances in A Quiet Place to the nightmarish Hereditary, 2018 is building on 2017 Oscar contender Get Out. The year is not over yet. As Friday the 13th is upon us, here's a list of horror movies that shall be part for your weekend plans until the new dawn of 2019 arrives.

1. Unfriended: Dark Web

Because the daily news about the horror of online mishaps is not scary enough, Blumhouse brings Unfriended: Dark Web.

This is the story of the horror flick - When a 20-something finds a cache of hidden files on his new laptop, he and his friends are unwittingly thrust into the depths of the dark web. They soon discover someone has been watching their every move and will go to unimaginable lengths to protect the dark web.

The movie created buzz during South by Southwest festival at the beginning of 2018. The vicious tale of internet-age paranoia will release on July 20.

2. The Predator

The trailer for the new Predator movie promises a lot of violence and scare factor. These aliens come to Earth after a kid discovers a piece of their technology that works like a beacon. What follows is violent chaos.

OThe official synopsis of the movie reads - From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

Directed by Shane Black, The Predator is set to release on September 14

3. The Little Stranger

The Little Stranger tells the story of Dr. Faraday, the son of a housemaid, who has built a life of quiet respectability as a country doctor. During the long hot summer of 1948, he is called to a patient at Hundreds Hall, where his mother once worked. The Hall has been home to the Ayres family for more than two centuries.  But it is now in decline and its inhabitants – mother, son and daughter – are haunted by something more ominous than a dying way of life.  When he takes on his new patient, Faraday has no idea how closely, and how disturbingly, the family’s story is about to become entwined with his own.

Domnhall Gleeson is collaborating with Room director Lenny Abrahamson to chase down the ghosts in this ancient house.

The Little Stranger is set to release on August 31.

4. The Nun

One of the most awaited delight for the fans of fright is The Nun.

In the movie, A priest and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate the suicide of a young Nun in a cloistered abbey in Romania. The duo confronts a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in Conjuring 2,  as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.

The next movie in the Conjuring universe is set to release on September 7, 2018

5. The House with a Clock in Its Walls

The comedic and magical charm of the movie will cushion the scare factor in The House with a Clock in Its Walls, but that doesn't mean it should be off your horror list.

The magical adventure tells the spine-tingling tale of 10-year-old Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. But his new town’s sleepy façade jolts to life with a secret world of warlocks and witches when Lewis accidentally awakens the dead.

Helmed by Eli Roth, the film is slated to hit theatres on September 21

6. Venom

Venom is the first in the Spider-Man spin-off slate in works at Sony Pictures. The movie will follow the story of journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) who is also the vessel for an alien symbiote. This co-habitation will give Brock some new powers, but looking from the trailer, the vibe is positively scary.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer Venom is set to release on October 5

7. Halloween

The most awaited horror sequel of 2018 will see Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode finally take care of an unfinished business.

This movie is eleventh in the long-running franchise. After two investigators visit a prison for psychopaths, a butterfly effect leads to the Michael Myers masked killer coming back to town. The killings get more gruesome around the time of Halloween.

This time Strode will not let it go.

The horror flick is set to bow out on October 19, 2018

8. Suspiria

Director Luca Guadagnino gave us the movie adaptation of the tender story of Call My by Your Name. Come 2018, he is ready to shock your core by serving you gruesome, ritualistic horror with the remake of Suspiria.

Starring Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton, Suspiria revolves around a world-renown dance company, its artistic director (Swinton), a young American new to the troupe (Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Lutz Ebersdorf). Lives of all these people get entangled ina bloody, scary nightmare.
