Confirmed: Xiaomi Poco F1 to launch in India on August 22Author : AZIndia News Desk
Aug 13 (AZINS) A few days after Xiaomi announced POCO, a new sub-brand from the Chinese company, Xiaomi India’s Lead Product Manager, Jai Mani has now confirmed a partnership with Qualcomm. This hints at the fact that the upcoming smartphone will include a Snapdragon 845 SoC.
The device will be launched on August 22. The sub-brand's Twitter handle teased the launch and stated that it will be hosted in New Delhi.
Mani wrote in a Facebook post, “Poco is all about making a powerful smartphone with the technologies that truly matter. Recently it feels like the pace of innovation in the smartphone industry has slowed down, while prices are creeping up with flagship smartphones now past the $1000 mark. We set out to build something to buck this trend. For the first product, we got to basics and focus entirely on speed. Not just peak performance speed, but actual, real world speed.”
In terms of rumoured specifications, the device will feature a 5.99-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor, paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the smartphone is expected to be available in three variants – 64GB/128GB and 256GB. The device is also rumoured to include a dual camera set up – 12MP + 5MP along with a 20MP front-facing camera. Running Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.5 on top, it includes a 4,000mAh battery. It is expected to be price between Rs 30,000- Rs 40,000.
