Need to thank K.V Anand for 'Shamitabh': DhanushChennai, Nov 10 (AZINS) Actor Dhanush, who recently completed shooting for R. Balakrishnan-directed "Shamitabh", Sunday said that he could be part of the project because filmmaker K.V Anand allowed him to take out time to shoot for it while working on his upcoming Tamil film "Anegan".

"I was working on 'Anegan' when I got the offer to work in 'Shamitabh'. I was amazed by the film's script but didn't know how I would take out time to shoot for it. But K.V Anand sir was kind enough to adjust his dates for me to work in 'Shamitabh'. I need to thank him for that," Dhanush told reporters here.

He was speaking at the audio launch of "Anegan", which was unveiled here amidst the film's cast and crew.

Anand, who is known for lacing social issues in his stories, has for the first time attempted a full-length romantic film that is set against the backdrop of different time zones.

Dhanush was chosen for the lead role because Anand felt he's apt for love stories.

"The experience Dhanush has had with love stories makes him most suitable for the titular character. He has played all kinds of lover on screen, and that convinced me that only he could pull off this role with ease," Anand said.

In the film, Dhanush will be essaying four characters from different time zones. He is paired with debutant Amyra Dastur, while Aishwarya Devan will also be seen in an important role.

"Anegana, which is gearing up for release soon, also features Karthik Muthuraman, Jagan and Atul Kulkarni in important roles.
