Sep 4 (AZINS) Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi 6 series - Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro - in India tomorrow, September 5. The smartphones will be available for purchase via e-commerce portal Amazon India.
Amazon India has already been teasing the Redmi devices for quite some time, ahead of launch. Based on the latest teaser on the website, two of the three Redmi 6 series smartphones will be available exclusively on the portal, starting 2PM. Out of the two smartphones displayed on the poster, one sports an iPhone X-like notch which hints at the fact that it might be the Redmi 6 Pro. The other smartphone could either be the Redmi 6 or Redmi 6A. It is believed that the third smartphone will be exclusively available via Flipkart.
Xiaomi Redmi 6
In terms of specifications, the Redmi 6 features a 5.45-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 processor, and will be available in two RAM variants – 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM. It also offers two storage variant options – 32GB and 64GB along with a microSD card for expandable storage. Running Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI, the device comes equipped with a dual camera set up – 12MP + 5MP sensors. It also features a 5MP front-facing camera. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS and microUSB. A 3000mAh battery completes the package.
Xiaomi Redmi 6A
In terms of specifications, the Redmi 6A features a 5.45-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 processor, paired with 2GB RAM. It includes an internal storage of 16GB along with a microSD card for expandable storage. Running Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI, the device comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front-facing camera.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro
The Redmi 6 Pro is the first in the series to feature a notch on its 5.84-inch display, with a 19:9 aspect ratio. Powered by a Snapdragon 625 and a large 4,000 mAh battery, the new Xiaomi phone runs on MIUI 9 and comes with Android 8.1 Oreo, as well as dual-SIM support.
The camera set-up supports features such as AI Face Unlock and Portrait Mode, although the selfie camera is 5MP -- a fairly basic option for modern phones. The dual cameras at the back, 12MP + 5MP, are vertically aligned with the flash between them.
