Brand new dynamic posters of Thalaiva Rajinikanth's '2.0' will make your weekendAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Sep 7 (AZINS) Rajinikanth fans have been waiting for a very long time to get the first glimpse of his new movie 2.0. Starring Akshay Kumar in his first ever out and out villainous role, 2.0 is the sequel to director's Shankar's blockbuster sci-fi outing Robot. This patience has been rewarded with two new posters and release date announcement for the teaser.
Taking to his Twitter account Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar unveiled the two new posters for the movie with Thalaiva Rajinikanth in the lead role.
Akshay's poster showcased a massive bird claw tearing apart a skyscraper, wrecking havoc over the city in the process. Very suitable to what the Housefull actor's character Richard intends to do in the movie. The Pad Man star captioned the image, "Prepare for #2Point0! Teaser out on September 13, 2018. @2Point0movie @LycaProductions @DharmaMovies"
Karan Johar, on the other hand, offered a darker side of the movie with the poster of a menacing looking hawk staring down at the viewers with bloodshot eyes. The grey poster also puts forth the title of the movie as a bold statement.
The director-producer captioned this image: "I am exceptionally proud and honoured to present the MEGA and MAMMOTH cinema experience - @shankarshanmugh's EXCEPTIONAL vision is soon coming your way. Watch this space for more! #2Point0 @apoorvamehta18 @rajinikanth @akshaykumar @LycaProductions @DharmaMovies @arrahman"
Rajinikanth is reprising his double role as good-hearted scientist Vaseekaran and bad brained robot Chitti. The movie was scheduled to release early this year. But citing the need to finish intricate and thorough VFX work with diligence, the filmmakers delayed the release.
“There are a lot of expectations riding on the film. What’s good about Shankar is this project, he is the right person. Anyone else would have broken by now. He is like an iron man held on to it saying “I won’t compromise. I want this quality. It’s in 3D, I just watched one song. No CG on it…mindblowing. Only this guy can do this. And there is a whole climax scene, which is incredible,” composer AR Rahman justified the delay in an interview with Rajeev Masand.
2.0 is now slated to release on November 29.
