After a 14 days stay at the hospital, Dilip Kumar is back home, continues to be on nasal feedSep 24 (AZINS) Veteran actress and Dilip Kumar's wife Saira Banu must be relieved as the Mughal-E-Azam actor is back home after a two-week stay in Lilavati hospital.

This 14 days at the hospital were perhaps the longest stay of the many admissions Dilip Kumar has had in the same hospital in the past few years.

For the uninitiated, Dilip Kumar was wheeled into Lilavati Hospital (Bandra) on September 5 at around 3 pm.

A tweet on his Twitter handle soon after read, “Saab has been admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital as he was bit uneasy due to a chest infection. He’s recuperating. Requesting your duas and prayers. –FF.”

The legendary actor was diagnosed with Aspiration Pnemonia, which is a type of lung infection.

Saira Banu was then told that Dilip Kumar will have to stay under strict observation in ICU for the next 72 hours. The senior actor had to undergo several tests and a lot of treatment as well this time around. The infection and tests amounted to a longer stay at the hospital eventually.

However, now Dilip Kumar has been discharged. However, the 95-year old actor continues to be on nasal feed as a large amount of food which he was taking a few days before he was admitted had entered his lungs, and so the doctors still feel that he should not be given any type of food orally.

Spotbeoye.com also reported that a lot of medicines are being given intravenously at the same time.

"So far so good. Dilip saab is out of danger. His vital parameters are stable," a source told a website.

So is he out of danger?

"Yes, no cause of immediate worry," the source added.

In November 2017, Dilip Kumar was admitted to the hospital for ‘mild’ pneumonia and advised complete bed rest by doctors. "This time the stay was longer than otherwise but it's always better to have a longish observation period if the problems are generally associated with age, which is true in the case of Dilip Kumar," the source went on to say.
