Jan 28 (AZINS) Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Thackeray has managed to put up a decent total at the box office in its opening weekend. The film, which is a biopic, chronicling the life and times of Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray has raked in a total of Rs 22. 90 crore in its opening weekend.
Thackeray opened to Rs 6 crore on Friday and saw a huge jump in its collections on Saturday. The day two collections of the film closed in on Rs 10 crore. On Day three the film further added Rs 8.90 crore at the box office, taking its overall total to Rs 22. 90 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share more insights about the box office collections of the film. The film also stars Amrita Rao in the character of Bal Thackeray's wife. Though, Thackeray has managed to out up a modest total in its opening weekend, it'll be interesting to see how it performs during the weekdays. Watch this space...
