Feb 1 (AZINS) Rajkummar Rao, who is currently basking in the success of his latest release 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga', which is about a family accepting their daughter's sexual orientation, recently revealed in an exclusive chat with DNA that if he would ever be offered a lead role in a same-sex love story, he would like Ranveer Singh to play the role of his gay partner. Woah! Now that would be quite a film!
Interestingly, Rajkummar has earlier been a part of 'Aligarh', which starred Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role and was based on the life of Aligarh Muslim University professor Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, who was suspended because of his sexual orientation. Rajkummar's character in the film was inspired by journalist Deepu Sebastian, who covered stories related to Siras.
The National Award-winning actor was also supposed to essay the role of a transgender in a Bengali film 'Ami Saira Bano' but the film unfortunately never saw the light of the day.
Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, played a bisexual ruler Allauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, 'Padmaavat'. The film showed Khilji's dalliance with Indian-born general Malik Kafur, which was played by Jim Sarbh.
