Badla trailer: Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu are back at delivering their best performanceAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Feb 12 (AZINS) The buzz around Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Badla has been massive, and now that the trailer is out, we can safely say that they do not disappoint. Both Big B and Taapsee are back to doing what they do the best – acting like pros. They previously appeared in Sujoy Ghosh's film Pink, which became widely-acclaimed.
Amitabh Bachchan plays a lawyer in the film and he is introduced to Taapsee Pannu as someone who has an ‘expertise in preparing a witness’. Hereon begins the game he plays with Taapsee Pannu, who is acquitted of a murder charge.
Bachchan assures Taapsee that her version of truth will be the truth which he would accept. However things take a drastic turn and the statement recording goes up to three hours, with Big B counter-questioning the events in order.
One trait a good lawyer has is seeing the truth as it is, and Amitabh Bachchan has that power. Even though he assures his client Taapsee that her version of truth is what he would go ahead with, the lawyer seems to have figured out and rather solved the crime mystery.
The story of Badla really begins as Taapsee reveals the back story where she has an extra-marital affair since three months. The actress further divulged that they were a target for a blackmailer. Taking charge her boyfriend gathers cash, but things take a drastic turn after he is murdered. Taapsee obviously gets acquitted for the murder, and to prove herself innocent, she has hired Amitabh Bachchan. But is she really innocent? Tables turn when Amitabh Bachchan also begins to question her intentions. However Taapsee is no less either. She is almost convincing as she says that she is being framed in the murder. So what is the real truth?
Badla trailer is like a tunnel - it puts you deeper and deeper to darkness, till you finally see some light. The light here is in the form of Amitabh Bachchan and his stupendous performance. Talented actors Amrita Singh and Manav Kaul also make appearances in glimpses, and we really look forward to seeing their performances too, especially after they managed to grab our attention within just a few seconds. Manav had proved his talent to Amitabh Bachchan in Wazir and we are obviously excited to see once-superstar Amrita Singh back on screen.
Sujoy Ghosh, who has helmed Kahaani previously, needs to get applauded for creating the world of Badla. Amitabh Bachchan especially has a dialogue which relates to the number six and nine, and that has confused as well as intrigued us to the core.
The film Balda, produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment, releases on 8th March 2019. The actor had previously back another crime-thriller in Sidharth Malhotra-Sonakshi Sinha starrer Ittefaaq, which was also co-produced by BR Films, who held the rights of the original film.
