Feb 2 (AZINS) Six years after they last performed together, the Jonas Brothers - Nick (26), Joe (29) and Kevin (31) - on Friday, released a new music single 'Sucker'. In the video, the trio is seen romancing their respective partners - Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sophie Turner and Danielle Jonas (who call themselves the J sisters) in quirky costumes.
'Sucker' is the brothers' first music release since June 2013's 'First Time', after which they split citing a "deep rift in the band."
Within an hour of its release, 'Sucker' was already one of the best-selling songs on US ITunes sales chart. While the their fans all over the world were rejoicing, the desi folks were busy wondering where have they seen this before. Three brothers, with their three loving better-halves, singing and dancing.
Well, they found the answer in Bollywood's cult classic 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'. And, we actually agree! 'Sucker' is basically a classier and fashionable version of 'Hum Saath Saath Hain', that starred Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Monish Behl.
The Jonas Brother formed the band in 2005. They became teenage music sensations after their Disney movie, 'Camp Rock' became a smash hit. Following the cancellation of their 2013 comeback tour, the band announced their split just three weeks later, also axing a planned album.
Since then, Nick, who recently married actor Priyanka Chopra, has released two solo albums, and launched an acting career starring in 'Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle'.
Meanwhile Joe, who’s engaged to 'Game of Thrones' star Sophie Turner, formed the band DNCE, serving as the lead vocalist. They had chart success with the song 'Cake By The Ocean'.
Kevin moved away from the world of music and became an entrepreneur. He founded a real-estate development and construction company, and is the co-CEO of a company which deals with communications and social media influencers. Keven recently welcomed his two daughters - Alena, 5, and Valentina, 2.
Following the release of 'Sucker' the brothers sat down with Elvis Duran for an interview in which they spoke at length about their much-hyped split.
"When it ended it was not good. It was a couple years of rebuilding our family, and in our mind it seemed impossible for us to do this ever again,” Nick revealed.
He further mentioned that the topic of reunion resurfaced during the filming of their documentary. "This whole thing started because we decided to make a documentary about our story then evolved to us actually doing some real healing and growing as brothers to the point where we all looked at each other and said 'we’ve got to do this again.'"
According to the brothers, 'Sucker' is just the beginning of what they have in the pipeline musically. “We’ve got a lot of songs that are recorded. We have 30-40 songs that we are excited to release, so I think in the next few months you’re going to hear more.” mentioned Joe.
