But there was a time when the actor made her cry. Kartik revealed in a 2013 Biscoot TV interview that his kiss with co-star Nushrat Bharucha in 'Pyaar Ka Punchama' left his mother so upset that she broke into tears. “One, I left my studies (for film industry) and second, I am doing such deeds on screen,” he had then reasoned. He had also added that his maternal grandmother was also very upset with him.

The actor is very close to his mother Mala and occasionally shares pictures with her on his Instagram handle. He also recently bought a house for his parents in Mumbai.

The mother-son duo had danced together during the success bash of his film 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety', the video of which went viral on the web.

Kartik is on a high professionally with 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' becoming his first Rs 100 crore club film and his latest release 'Luka Chuppi' emerging has his highest opener till date. He has now begun shooting for 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' with co-stars Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the actor has also confirmed that he will be starring in Imtiaz Ali’s next film. 'Simmba' actor Sara Ali Khan is said to be in talks to play the female lead opposite him.
