The shooting of the film is currently progressing at a brisk pace in Hyderabad and the makers are planning to wrap up the entire shooting before mid-April. Directed by Vinoth, who made an assured sophomore feature in Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, Nerkonda Paarvai has Shraddha Srinath reprising the role played by Taapsee Pannu in the original.

Jointly produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP and Zee Studios, Nerkonda Paarvai has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. 2.0 cinematographer Nirav Shah cranks the camera for the film, which was earlier announced as May 1, 2019 release to coincide with Ajith's birthday. However, sources say the movie may be pushed to a different date for reasons best known to the team. The first look poster was officially confirmed by Ajith's PRO Suresh Chandra on his Twitter handle on Monday.

If Nerkonda Paarvai makes it on May 1 as announced earlier, the film will take Sivakarthikeyan's comedy entertainer Mr Local head-on at the box-office. Ajith is currently basking in the glory of his mega-blockbuster Viswasam directed by Siva. The film which also starred Nayanthara as the female lead has grossed more than Rs 130 crore in Tamil Nadu alone and nearly Rs 185 crore in worldwide theatrical earnings.
