Did you know? 'Kalank' was supposed to bring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Ajay Devgn and Rani Mukerji togetherMar 8(AZINS) Kalank has come into news ever since Karan Johar's gave us a glimpse of the 40s. The filmmaker has given us an insight into the characters of Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt. A fact which you probably forgot is that the movie was previously supposed to star Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji and Ajay Devgn.

Karan Johar wanted this dream team for his project, however the same never happened. The filmmaker could at max bring Shah Rukh, Kajol and Rani for his directorial debut film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. It is believed that the reason why the team couldn't come around is the cold vibes between Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn.

Co-incidentally Ajay and Karan too were not on talking terms when their movie Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil faced a Box Office clash in the Diwali season of 2016. That is the same time when Kajol and Karan's bond was affected and KJo's no longer took his lucky charm in films. Later on however, Kajol and Karan made up and are back to being friends.

At one point of time, it was also being believed that Karan Johar wanted Shah Rukh Khan and his now-favourite Ranbir Kapoor together in the film, but that didn't finalize either. Hence Karan Johar got his superhit jodi Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt back on screen with the film. The filmmaker found an added bonus when Madhuri Dixit-Nene was cast in the same film as Sanjay Dutt.

The ex-flames never worked together for so many years, and the tradition would have continued if late actress Sridevi didn't have to be replaced. Sridevi's untimely demise last year shook the nation. For the uninitiated the actress had been cast for Kalank but had to be replaced with Madhuri Dixit-Nene.

A day after the male of Kalank's first looks and posters were released, it was the day when the women of Kalank came to forefront. While Varun, Alia and Madhuri's identity hasn't been revealed, we can be assured that Aditya, Sanjay and Sonakshi are somehow related.
