National crush Priya Prakash Varrier not on talking terms with 'Oru Adaar Love' director Omar Lulu?Author : AZIndia News Desk
Mar 10 (AZINS) For Malayalam girl Priya Prakash Varrier, things took a turn when a glimpse of her in the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi from Oru Adaar Love, that had a wide release as Lovers’ Day in Telugu, went viral. She was suddenly the new sensation as netizens addressed her with titles such as the 'National crush' and 'National love interest' and all eyes were set on her with several endorsement deals coming her way as well.
But things have taken a murky turn for the film’s team and even a month after release, the movie is embroiled in a controversy. Notably, post the release of the film, there was wide criticism with several negative reviews. What came as a surprise was that Priya wasn’t even the star of the film and Noorin Shereef was the main lead. When Noorin came to Hyderabad to promote the film, she even went on record to say that she was “disappointed that the viral video changed things”. “I was very happy to be roped in as the female lead but things didn’t work out as I hoped after the sudden chain of events,” she had then said.
And now, the film’s director Omar Lulu has voiced a similar opinion in an interview with a Malayalam channel talking about the bad reviews for the film. “I wanted to make a good film from the beginning but once Priya became popular, I had undue pressure on me from the Malayalam and Tamil producers to make her the lead. This was a tough task because I started off making a different film altogether. I am not happy with the way the film turned out in the end but I had no choice,” he shared adding that he wasn’t given his entire due in the form of the dubbing rights’ remuneration that wasn’t paid to him.
It seems Omar is also not very happy with Priya and categorically stated that he wasn’t in touch with her in any manner and shared that he believed Noorin was a better performer.
