Mar 19 (AZINS) The satellite rights of Vijay's highly anticipated big-budget project Thalapathy 63 have been sold for a whopping undisclosed price to market giant Sun TV. The satellite and streaming rights for the film directed by Atlee have been valued at a massive Rs 60 crore by trade pundits.
Sources say the makers are in talks with Amazon Prime for the streaming rights of the film, whose shooting is currently underway in Chennai city. The project is produced by AGS Entertainment and marks the third consecutive collaboration of director Atlee after Theri and Mersal, which amassed more than Rs 250 crore at the worldwide box-office and went on to become a humongous blockbuster for the duo.
Thalapathy 63 also marks Vijay's reunion with Lady Superstar Nayanthara after the Prabhu Deva-directed Villu, which flunked at the ticket window and Atlee's reunion with the Aramm actress after his blockbuster directorial debut Raja Rani.
Tipped to be a sports drama, Vijay reportedly plays a coach in the movie, which also features Vivek, Yogi Babu, Induja of Mercury and Meyaadha Maan fame, and Kathir of Pariyerum Perumal fame in important roles. Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman is scoring the music for the project, which marks his third successive project with Vijay after Mersal and Sarkar, which became 2019's second highest-grossing Tamil film followed by Rajinikanth's 2.0.
