Successful franchises across the world have shown that when packaged with crisp fight sequences, even sensitive topics help in conveying the most difficult emotions. From a heartfelt film like Logan to a coming-of-age story like the Spider-Man series, all have heavily depended on engaging narrative and action to drive home the message.

Today, due to their fast-paced stress-ridden lives, audiences have taken to less preachy and more entertaining forms of storytelling. Ever since the trailer of Vidyut Jammwal’s Junglee has been released, trade is abuzz that viewers will welcome this cinematic treat with open arms. Some of them are also hailing the actor as India’s Tarzan. Live action coupled with real, magnificent animals like elephants in this Chuck Russell directorial has left the audience waiting for more.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, “Action with emotions is the cherry on the cake. Of course, there has to be a storyline with it. There have been movies which showed the bond between human beings and animals — right from Haathi Mere Saathi, which had Rajesh Khanna and an elephant, to Teri Meherbaniyan, which had Jackie Shroff and a dog. There have been so many movies in which creatures have played pivotal roles and they have worked because people love them. For me, a film with animals and action makes for a perfect family outing.”

Trade analyst Komal Nahta is of the opinion, “Action films generally appeal to masses more than family and class audiences, but if an action-based movie has other entertaining factors, too, then it becomes universally appealing. Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was the biggest blockbuster of its time and families, classes and masses took it to another level altogether. In fact, the deadliest combination is action with emotions. In recent times, I saw that combination in the trailer of Junglee. Additionally, it has animal-human bonding, which has not been seen in Hindi cinema for many years. I think, people will flock to cinemas to watch Junglee because of these reasons.”
