'Chhapaak': Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey are all smiles at the script reading session for Meghna Gulzar's filmMar 20 (AZINS) Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey will soon start shooting for their upcoming film Chhapaak. The film is being helmed by Meghna Gulzar and marks Deepika's debut as a producer. The hard-hitting film is based on the life of the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The tagline of Chhapaak is, "A story of trauma and triumph. And the unquashable human spirit." Deepika will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar and it has made people very excited for the project.

Today, the whole team of Chhapaak assembled together for the script reading session. From Deepika, Vikrant to Meghna, everyone took to their social media pages and shared photos from the session. Deepika posted a photo with Vikrant where she is all smiles. The actor captioned her post as "All things are ready, if our mind be so-William Shakespeare #Chhapaak @meghnagulzar @foxstarhindi @vikrantmassey87"

While Vikrant wrote, "As actors, we live for this moment. Feeling blessed with the team during our #Chhapaak reading session @MeghnaGulzarOfficial @foxstarhindi @deepikapadukone"

Meghna went on to tweet, "A team that reads together... #Chhapaak @deepikapadukone @masseysahib @foxstarhindi"

Earlier, at an event, when Meghna was asked about Chhapaak, she had said, "You won’t be seeing Deepika, you know. You will be seeing a disfigured Deepika. There is an uncanny similarity between the survivor and Deepika."

While Deepika opened up about her project during an interaction with Daily Mail UK and said, "It’s a story inspired by the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. It’s not a biopic it is inspired by her life and it’s directed by Meghna Gulzar, and we start filming next week."

The release date of Chhapaak is yet to be announced!
