Radhika Madan shot ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’ climax in a dayMar 20 (AZINS) After making her debut in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Pataakha last year, Radhika Madan has been a name who has been part of conversations among her peers. Before the release of her next film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, she has the same excitement and chill attitude like she had before Pataakha released. Talking to DNA about her original debut film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, being directed by debutant director Vasan Bala, having mentors in Abhimanyu Dassani and Gulshan Devaiah, and sharing some unforgettable moments, Radhika Madan got emotional and how!

Here are some excerpts from the interview:

This was supposed to be your debut…

Yes, not just me, but even Abhimanyu and Vasan sir. It was something magical on set because of that. Everybody, like if there is my shot, Gulshan and Abhimanyu will just go and sit behind the monitor even when they are done for the day. If they feel I can punch better, they will actually get up and say that.

Was there a time when you were only doing action throughout the day?

That did happen to me one day. I finished my climax shoot that day. I was doing action since six in the morning and even till six in the evening, Vasan sir came to talk to me and I could see through him because I was so zonked out. Then he told me what happened late at night.

How special does it feel that you got to do action in your first film in the industry where women appear in action very rarely?

The action is quite real. We haven’t used wires or body doubles. There was a body double initially but we asked Vasan sir to change that because it wasn’t looking real.

Any compliment which has stayed with you?

Yes, a girl came to me with tears in her eyes. She told me she relates to Supri a lot. There’s a scene in the film with my mother. She was talking about that scene. She told me that just looking at me, it inspired her to take whatever step was needed. That was a really special moment. I could see her honesty in the moment. It stayed with me.
