'PM Narendra Modi' producer issues clarification on adding Javed Akhtar and Sameer's names in movie creditMar 23 (AZINS) A day after Javed Akhtar refused his involvement with the upcoming movie PM Narendra Modi, a biopic on Prime Minister of India, lyricist Sameer too mentioned that he has not worked on the film. The producer of the film Sandeep Ssingh now went on to clarify why the names of veteran lyricists have been added to his movie.

According to Sandeep, he added the film as a courtesy to taking rights of their songs 'Ishwar Allah' and 'Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon' respectively. The movie has partnered with T-Series, who hold rights for both the songs. He tweeted, "We have taken the songs 'Ishwar Allah' from the film '1947:Earth' and the song 'Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon' from the film 'Dus' in our film, thus we have given the due credits to respective lyricists Javed Sahab and Sameer Ji. @TSeries is our Music partner. @ModiTheFilm2019"

When the trailer released and noted film and song writer Javed Akhtar spotted his name, he expressed shock on Twitter. The lyricist tweeted, "I am shocked to find my name on the poster of this film. Have not written any songs for it." See his tweet here:

Directed by Omung Kumar, 'PM Narendra Modi’ the film will traverse the journey of Narendra Damodardas Modi from his humble beginnings to his years as Chief Minister onto his landmark win at the 2014 election and finally being nominated as the Prime Minister of India.

Produced by Sandip Ssingh, Suresh Oberoi and Anand Pandit, this film features Vivek Oberoi, Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, Zarina Wahab, Barkha Sengupta, Anjan Shrivastav, Yatin Karyekar, Rajendra Gupta, Akshat R Saluja, Jimesh Patel and Darshan Kumaar in important roles. It is slated to release on 5th April 2019.
