Not romcom, Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor's Luv Ranjan film set to be of this genreMar 27 (AZINS) Luv Ranjan, who is known for his directorial namely Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, has roped in actors Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor for his next. This announcement was made last year and people couldn't contain their excitement to see this major collaboration. The movie is set to be the second outing of Ajay and Ranbir post-Rajneeti which released in the year 2010.

Earlier, there were reports making the rounds that the project might be shelved. However, when Mumbai Mirror quizzed Ajay about the same, he had said, "Ranbir and I start shooting from next year as planned. The film is being scripted." Since the time, the project was announced, fans assumed that it will be a rom-com. But now, as per reports in the tabloid, the movie is set to be an out-and-out action thriller.

Talking about it, a source stated, "Luv has been working on the script for almost two years now. The first draft of the script is locked, and the film will go on the floors by the year-end. It is mounted on a huge budget. Once the final draft of the script is locked, Luv will go on a recce. After that, he will finalise a stunt team that will be a mix of Indian and international action directors."

The source further spoke about Ranbir's character saying, "He will be seen performing some stylish stunts alongside Ajay. The film’s team is planning action workshops for them ahead of filming."

Talking about the whole schedule, the source added, "The plan is to go on the floors by December this year and wrap it up by April 2020. As it is an action thriller, it will require prolonged post-production."

The makers are in talks with leading ladies for the role of the female lead alongside Ajay and Ranbir.
