Rohit Shetty-Akshay Kumar to announce 'Sooryavanshi' female lead soonMar 31 (AZINS) Rohit Shetty's third film from the cop franchise 'Sooryavanshi' has managed to grab everybody's attention. The movie is especially in news because of the suspense around the female lead who is going to be cast in the film. 'Sooryavanshi' stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role.

Names like Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif have been linked to the film. While Deepika Padukone is busy with her next film Chapaak, Katrina Kaif is waiting for her movie Bharat to release on Eid. She has not begun shooting for or announced any other film yet.

However Rohit Shetty went on to inform at an awards show which was hosted on Friday, "We will begin shooting for the film in the month of May. It's a long one year's journey before releasing the film." He added, "We will announce the female lead in next 2-3 days."

Reports thus are rife that the actress, who left Varun Dhawan starrer Street Dancer 3D due to her packed schedule while shooting for Bharat, might take up the project. If Katrina Kaif does say yes to 'Sooryavanshi'', the movie would be the first time when the actress is paired up with Rohit Shetty.

Katrina and Akshay Kumar were a superhit jodi when the actress had just begun her career. They have worked in popular films like 'Welcome', 'Singh Is Kiing', 'Humko Deewana Kar Gaye', 'Namastey London' and many more. The actress has also been working with all the three Khans. Apart from appearing in Bharat, she worked with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in 'Zero'. The trio had paired up for Yash Chopra's last film as a director 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'. Not just that, she also collaborated with Aamir Khan and Vijay Krishna Acharya for 'Thugs Of Hindostan' post 'Dhoom: 3'.
