'Kalank' Trailer: Roop and Zafar's illicit love wrecks havoc in Satya and Dev's marital blissApril 3 (AZINS) After much ado, the makers of 'Kalank' finally released the trailer of the much awaited film on Wednesday (April 3). The trailer, which was initially supposed to be released at 11 am, was postponed by 4 hours for unknown reasons. The film set in 1940s has been in the news ever since its announcement. Dharma Productions' ambitious period drama featuring Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur has blockbuster written all over it.

'Kalank' was conceived by Karan Johar’s father Yash Johar 15 years ago and was the last project he worked on. Post the release of 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' (2003), Karan wanted to direct it himself. Unfortunately, the film, which was in pre-production then, went on the back burner, but the script always remained close to his heart. 'Kalank' was then passed on to '2 States' (2014) helmer Abhishek Varman, who is very close to KJo.

'Kalank' marks the reunion of rumoured exes Sanjay and Madhuri after 21 years. The two shared screen space for the last time in 1997 film 'Mahaanta'. It is also the fourth film where Alia and Varun are featuring together after blockbusters like 'Student of the Year', 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' and 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'.

Presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, 'Kalank' is set to release on April 17, this year.
