Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's 'Coolie No 1' gets a release date!May 1 (AZINS) The buzz around David Dhawan's adaptation of Coolie No. 1 starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan in the leads, has been gathering quite a lot of momentum online. Ever since it was announced that Varun will star in his father's remake of the film, speculations were rife about who the leading lady will be.

Now that it's official that Sara Ali Khan will team up with Varun Dhawan for the first time on screen in Coolie No 1 remake, the makers have also revealed the released date of the film. The movie, which is yet to go on floors, will hit the theatres exactly a year from today, i.e., May 1, 2020.

Varun Dhawan took to his Twitter account to share the news with her fans. He posted a picture of a coolie's batch on which has "W. RLY No. 1 LICENSED PORTER" inscribed on it. Varun wrote alongside, "Aaj ka Din , Agle Saal Aega Coolie No.1 - Hoga Kamaal !!! The original 1995 classic comedy starred Govinda and Karisma in the leads and was also helmed by David Dhawan. For the reboot, Varun will be stepping into Govinda's shoes while Sara will play Karisma's character.

As of now, Varun is busy shooting for Remo D'Souza's Street Dancer with Shraddha Kapoor while Sara is currently filming Imtiaz Ali's next with Kartik Aaryan, which is touted to be Love Aaj Kal 2. Varun was last seen in Kalank and Sara's last release was Simmba.
