'Student Of The Year 2' Box Office Report Day 2: Tiger, Ananya, Tara's film makes Rs 14.02 crore, records 16% growthMay 12 (AZINS) Tiger Shroff, debutantes Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria starrer Student of the Year 2 finally hit the screens on Friday. The film got a decent opening as it minted Rs 12.06 crore. The film has got the second best opening for Tiger after Baaghi 2 which had released last year. Directed by Punit Malhotra, SOTY 2 is a sequel to Karan Johar's directorial Student of the Year which released in the year 2012.

Now, the second-day collections for Student of the Year 2 are out. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has made about Rs 14.02 crore on Saturday which is a 16% growth than the first day. Taran tweeted, "#StudentOfTheYear2 witnesses growth on Day 2, but lacks the appreciation for a solid jump... Mumbai, Delhi, NCR plexes performing better... #IPL2019Final today [Sun] will hit biz, evening onwards... Fri 12.06 cr, Sat 14.02 cr. Total: ? 26.08 cr. India biz. #SOTY2"

The total collections until now for Tiger, Ananya and Tara's film are Rs 26.08 crore. We have to see how much it makes total on the first weekend.

Earlier, talking about SOTY 2's box office business, Taran had said, "First of all, it is a sequel to Student Of The Year (2012), which became a brand and still has tremendous recall value. It gifted the industry three newcomers — Varun, Alia and Sidharth — who have become stars of the new generation. This time, two new girls — Ananya and Tara — are being introduced.  The film also has Tiger, who is a force to reckon with. He has a huge fan following. After the stupendous success of Baaghi 2 (2018), he is in the top bracket."
