July 5 (AZINS) Karan Johar recently made his upcoming project Dostana 2 official. The filmmaker announced two names - Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor, and left us waiting to know which third (male) actor, who is also a fresh face, would join this cast.

“I am thrilled to take the franchise forward with Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor. This is Dharma’s first film with Kartik and we are excited to work with him! We can’t wait to create some desi boy and girl madness with him and Janhvi. We will also introduce a male lead in this film who will join the incredible talent at Dharma. Collin D’Cunha makes his debut as a director with Dostana 2,” Karan Johar had confirmed to DNA.

It is now learnt that Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor could probably play siblings on the big screen. Confirming the same, a source close to the development told Pinkvilla, "Kartik and Janhvi are not paired opposite each other in Dostana 2. In fact, they are playing siblings in the film. This is a new brother-sister pairing that KJo is introducing with the movie. The reason why they called the third lead 'a suitable boy' is because both Janhvi and Kartik have the same love interest, to be essayed by this newcomer that Dharma plans to launch with the sequel."

For the uninitiated, Dostana was directed by Tarun Mansukhani and starred Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles. The story then was about two straight men, played by John and Abhishek, pretending to be gay couple in order to stay closer to their crush, played by Priyanka Chopra.
