Was doing back to back movies, it was a whirlwind: Anushka Sharma on decision to take a break
July 30 (AZINS) Anushka Sharma had four releases in 2018 which include - Pari, Sanju, Sui Dhaaga - Made in India and Zero. However, she hasn't signed any film after Aanand L Rai's directorial thus disappointing the fans. It was rumoured that the actor might be pregnant but she quashed the rumours in style every time she was quizzed about it. Taking a break from films seem to be a conscious decision taken by Anushka and she confirmed the same while talking to Filmfare.

The actor stated, "That’s a conscious decision. I wanted to take a couple of months off after Zero. After I got married, it was like a whirlwind. I was back on the sets shooting for Sui Dhaaga: Made In India and later Zero. I was just working back to back. Whatever time I’d get, I'd try to balance and meet Virat. But I was feeling too worked up."

Anushka added, "I needed to take two months off. I told my team I don’t even want to read anything right now. It's important as a creative person to take time off but you deny yourself that. Of course, there’s pressure. You’re constantly asked, Kaunsi film sign kar rahe ho?"

Meanwhile, Anushka is foraying into digital space by turning executive producers for an original series titled Mai and Bulbul. Talking about Mai, she had said, "This is my second collaboration with Netflix after Bulbul and we are again looking to disrupt the kind of content audiences are consuming. We at Clean Slate Films have been dedicated to making clutter-breaking, powerful stories since our first production and we are looking forward to pushing the content envelope. The creative freedom to be able to translate these stories to screens that reach a global audience is exciting for us, which is why Netflix is such an important partner. Mai is an exciting work of fiction that tells the story of a middle-class Indian woman who leads a double-life of a don. At a time when audiences globally are appreciating differential content, Mai will hopefully intrigue them and entertain them thoroughly."
