Box Office Occupancy Report: 'Khandaani Shafakhana' opens on a poor note, 'Hobbs & Shaw' gets pretty good welcome
Aug 2 (AZINS) Sonakshi Sinha starrer Khandaani Shafakhana finally hit the screens today. The film based on a woman running a fertility clinic is helmed by debutant director Shilpi Dasgupta and also stars Varun Sharma and rapper Badshah in the lead roles. On the other hand, Hollywood flick, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw has also released today. The film stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in titular roles along with Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, and Helen Mirren.

Talking about the box office run of Khandaani Shafakhana, trade analyst Girish Johar stated to Times Now, "Sonakshi Sinha has been trying to make decent choices in the last couple of years. Khandaani Shafakhana, from what one can see in the promo, seems to be another one of them. She has picked up a taboo subject this time. The film is making noise for sure. Badshah is also there, which has definitely added to its commercial value. The film appears to be in the Vicky Donor space. I feel if it is well made, audiences may start coming in by Friday evening, which may continue over the weekend.

Now as per reports in Box Office India, Sonakshi's film has got a very low occupancy in the morning show of about 5% to 10%. To be in the game, the film has to show more than 50% jump on its first Saturday.

On the other hand, Hobbs & Shaw has opened well on the 30% mark which is pretty similar to the likes of Spiderman - Far From home and The Lion King. It seems like Hollywood films are set to have a great run at Box Office in India.
