The fact that celebrities make money through social media posts is not hidden. But what happens when you realize that half of the followers that these celebrities boast of are fake? A recent statistics have dug out that various Insta celebs who boast of having huge number of followers, actually have fake followers.

Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) carried out a research which now claims that celebrities worldwide, including Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, have a great amount of fake Instagram followers. Both the Bollywood actresses have been trying to make their mark in Hollywood too.

According to the stats (Showbiz), Deepika Padukone ranks number 6 in fake Instagram followers, with 45% of (63,441,661 out of 139,798,916) fake Instagram and Twitter followers. Priyanka Chopra, on the other hand, comes at rank 10, with 43% of (48,554,193 out of 112,194,500) fake Instagram and Twitter followers.

While there is no certainity about Deepika Padukone, IANS reports that Priyanka Chopra goes on to charge $271,000 per post. Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, who also happens to be Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma's husband, is also part of the list with 44% of (29,653,647 out of 67,029,904) fake Instagram and Twitter followers. He charges $196,000 per post.
