A 40-year-old woman working in the Marathi Television industry reportedly killed her 17-year-old daughter by strangulating her and committed suicide by hanging herself in Kalwa area of Thane...

In a shocking incident that has come to light, a 40-year-old woman reportedly strangulated her teenage daughter and killed her. Post that, she allegedly hanged herself too. The incident took place in Kalwa area of Thane on Friday, as per the police, reports PTI. 

The agency further reported that a suicide note, which was purportedly written by the woman named Pradnya Parkar, reveals that she was under a lot of stress which led her to kill her 17-year old daughter Shruti. The note added that she was going to kill herself. 

As per the initial reports, Pradnya worked in the Marathi Television industry and wasn't getting much work lately. Apparently, her husband too was going through financial problems in his business, police inspector Shekhar Bagde informed PTI. 

Reports doing the rounds suggest that senior police inspector Shekhar Bagde shared that a suicide note which is supposed to have been written by Pradnya mentioning the incident, was found by the police. As per the police officer, they are searching her house for more clues and notes which could help solve the case. 

Reportedly, the horrifying incident took place between 8 to 9 am on Friday, when Pradnya's husband had gone to the gym. He returned home to find the door of the flat locked from inside. On breaking open the door, bodies of Pradnya and Shruti were found. Shruti was a student of Class 12 in NG Bedekar College of Commerce in Thane. Further investigations are going on.
