Seen it yet? MTV Hustle contestant Nikita Sharma's message for feminists has the internet buzzing
A video from Television show MTV Hustle has created a storm on the internet. This video is that of a contestant Nikita Sharma. In a rap version, Nikita has shared a message for women, and feminists, or rather pseudo-feminists, who, according to her own words, demand respect.

As the rap starts, Nikita hints that she would be talking about two major topics - equality and feminism. Sharma goes on to hint about how both equality as well as feminism are misused in the country through various means, only to shut some men up.

She goes on to state about all the unspoken rules that state how women and men should and should not behave. Taking the rap forward, Nikita reminds us about how, according to feminists, it is okay for a woman to abuse and indulge in physical abuse, but a man is not permitted to do so and needs to keep shut. Coming to the financial aspect, the rule speaks that a man is supposed to spend his money on a fancy date, no matter what. According to her rap (hinted towards equality), it is okay for a woman to break the line, but a man is not permitted to do so. Furthermore, it is completely fine for a woman to remain unemployed and give excuses, but a man cannot even think about doing that.

The rap further goes on to talk about how ladies could misuse power given to them, in the name of #MeToo, dowry, getting intimate with the boss for a promotion, or asking a man to get up from the ladies seat, despite being fit. Nikita further goes on to rap that feminism has made women weaker, but letting them assume that no battle can be fought alone. She further went on to give examples of TV czarina Ekta Kapoor, the first lady who dared to step into space - Kalpana Chawla, the renowned boxer Mary Kom, and Jhansi Ki Rani, who dared to be 'veer' (strong) rather than opting for sati (a ritual where wife surrenders to fire after husband's death). Nikita ended the rap by stating that respect deserves to be earned not demanded.

Sure enough, this rap became the talking point among many netizens. The rap has divided men and women into different opinions. While the men have been applauding the rap, the women have been bashing Nikita, stating that she must understand feminism before targetting it.

MTV Hustle is hosted by Raftaar, Nuclear and Raja Kumari. The show airs on MTV at 7 pm every weekend.
