It may have been six years since Breaking Bad stopped airing, but fans of the show cannot stop going gaga over it. While the show centralized the character of Walter White, Breaking Bad has now been converted into a movie, which would focus on the character of Jesse Pinkman, who was always sidelined by White in the show.
A trailer of the Breaking Bad movie dropped in. Titled El Camino, the trailer features Jesse Pinkman's buddy Skinny Pete refusing to give in details about where Jesse is. For the unitiated, (spoiler alert), in the last episode of Breaking Bad, Jesse Pinkman, after Walter White's death, takes off his car and goes off to an undisclosed location, his character really remaining a mystery after a massive transformation.
Revealing that the movie will air on Netflix from October 11, the online streaming portal shared on their Twitter handle, "What happened to Jesse Pinkman? El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie October 11."
Soon after the announcement, most people could not keep calm. While some of the netizens were scared that a movie would ruin their memories, most others were excited that their favourite show, which ran from 2008 to 2013, is coming alive yet again.
Vince Gilligan, who had helmed the series, took over the director's chair for the movie too. Emmy-winner Aaron Paul plays the character of Jesse Pinkman, while Charles Baker plays the role of Skinny Pete. The movie would also feature Pinkman's lawyer Saul Goodman, played by Bob Odenkirk, who got a spin-off series called Better Call Saul. He had revealed to The Hollywood Reporter when the movie had wrapped up. “I don’t know what people know and don’t know. I find it hard to believe you don’t know it was shot. They did it. You know what I mean? How is that a secret? But it is. They’ve done an amazing job of keeping it a secret,” he had said.
El Camino is produced by Mark Johnson, Melissa Bernstein, Charles Newirth, Diane Mercer and Aaron Paul, in association with Sony Pictures Television.
