In fact Akshay Kumar-Vidya Balan starrer Mission Mangal is breaking records even in individual states of India. The latest place where Akshay Kumar's movie is the highest grossing, is West Bengal. While West Bengal usually underperforms when it comes to Akshay Kumar films, Mission Mangal was an exception.

Box Office India goes on to report that Akshay Kumar's popularity in West Bengal has been growing over the years. In fact Kesari, a Punjabi film, working in West Bengal, was indication that Akshay is being accepted there. Mission Mangal, which minted Rs. 8 crore in West Bengal, surpassed Akshay-Rajinikanth's 2.0 collections of Rs. 7.58 crore. In fact Mission Mangal is expected to cross Rs. 10 crore mark in West Bengal.
