'The Zoya Factor' trailer: Sonam Kapoor-Dulquer Salmaan starrer is enjoyable but not for practical mindsAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
The Zoya Factor trailer featuring Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan in lead roles, was expected to create a roar on the internet, which it is, but not exactly for the right reasons. The trailer mocks over various concepts, including a royal shunning of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev.
According to The Zoya Factor trailer, India won 1983 World Cup because Zoya Solanki, played by Sonam Kapoor, was born on the same day. This has upset many fans of the cricketer on the internet, since his contribution towards India's first World Cup has been completely ignored.
More so, the Indian cricket team is shown superstitious to the extent that they start wearing The Zoya Kavach. In all the chaos, comes the man who rescues not only Zoya in the film, but the trailer altogether - Dulquer Salmaan. A practical man who believes hardwork is the key to success, he comes as a refreshing change in the trailer which only seems to give rise to the concept of superstition.
Angad Bedi, who appeared to be a undeterred, also got into the flow of the superstition, and so began the ride which will drive practical minds crazy. The trailer however has some cute moments between Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan, where Dulquer steals the show. Take, for example, him questioning Zoya if she is with him only because he is Indian cricket team captain after she declares that he spends time with her only because of her luck factor.
The Zoya Factor trailer is a visual delight in some places while it is chaos in most others. Anyhow, Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan's chemistry is sure to pull you towards the film. Their though processes are always clashing with each other, which in turn is fun to watch.
Directed by Abhishek Sharma of Tere Bin Laden fame, the movie is being produced by Fox Star Studios in association with Aarti and Pooja Shetty from Ad-Labs Films Limited. The film, which goes on with the tagline 'India's Lucky Charm', is slated to release on September 20, 2019.
