Sara Ali Khan attacked by fundamentalists for celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi
On Monday, Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan was faced with an unpleasant situation. The actress, like most other Bollywood celebrities, took to the photo-sharing platform Instagram, in order to wish her fans. She shared a photo of her seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha.

Sara, who has a Hindu mother Amrita Singh and Muslim father Saif Ali Khan, was attacked by fundamentalists after she went on to post a photo with the elephant God. Sharing the post, Sara wrote, "Ganpati Bappa Morya!! May Ganesh Ji remove all your obstacles, and fill your year with laughter, positivity and success. #happyganeshchaturthi"

As soon as Sara shared the image, she was mainly questioned for worshipping a stone statue, and the fundamentalists commented 'Allah is the only God'. Some even went on to question that the actress was with Kartik Aaryan, who clicked her in the moment.

Prior to Sara Ali Khan, former Bengali actress and current TMC MP West Bengal Nusrat Jahan was criticized for celebrating Durga Puja. Nusrat, born a Muslim, is married to Hindu businessman Nikhil Jain. Cricketers Mohammad Kaif and Irfan Pathan too have come under scrutiny for celebrating Christmas and wishing Raksha Bandhan respectively.
