Kartik Aaryan has stepped into the shoes of Akshay Kumar for the sequel of Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The second instalment of the film will be helmed by Anees Bazmee and is titled Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Talking about the film, Anees had earlier told Mumbai Mirror, "I am excited to work with Bhushanji (Bhushan Kumar) and Murad bhai (Murad Khetani) again. Kartik is a talented actor and has a great part in the film." 

Now as per reports in the tabloid, Kiara Advani is all set to play the female lead in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Sharing the report, a source told MM, "The film is expected to go on the floors in October. It is currently in the preproduction stage. Reading sessions will begin closer to the first schedule." If the report turns out to be true, this will be the first collaboration of Kartik and Kiara on the big screen. 

Earlier when Kartik was asked about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, he had said, "I’m looking forward to collaborating with Bhushanji again. Bhool Bhulaiyaa has always been one of my favourite comedic supernatural thriller films and now being part of BB2 makes me happy, especially because I’ve been a big fan of Akshay Kumar sir and it’s a great responsibility to take his franchise forward. It’s a hilarious script and Anees sir has taken it to another level. I’m also looking forward to working with Murad bhai."

Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa released in the year 2005 and starred Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Shiney Ahuja in the lead roles.
