Shraddha Kapoor's intense diet for 'Muqabala' redux with Prabhudheva revealed
In Muqabala’s redux version for her project, Street Dancer 3D, Shraddha Kapoor will match steps with none other than the original track’s star Prabhudheva apart from Varun Dhawan. To put her best foot forward for the iconic song from the Tamil movie Kadhalan and its Hindi dubbed version Humse Hai Muqabala (1994), the actress had to undergo an intense fitness training and follow a strict diet regime. The Saaho heroine’s trainer Praveen Nair tells us, “Shraddha had to be put on functional training, Pilates with resistant bands and free weights for the comeback song. As she had to look lean and athletic, a lot of sport specific training had to be combined with TRX, core strengthening and core Pilates along with various accessories.” He divulges that the actress made it a point to hit her workouts before the shoot started.

For her diet, Shraddha was on intermittent fasting (IF) during the phase of the song. “IF helps the insulin drop significantly, facilitating fat-burning, thus making Shraddha look leaner. It also boosts the metabolic rate, which means higher energy levels that will get the best out of her, which is dancing.” Since such an iconic track is being recreated, Shraddha had to look her best and stand out. “We focussed on each and every aspect of her training, diet and rest,” states the celeb fitness coach.

Shraddha also used BCAA (branched-chain amino acids) supplement during her dance rehearsals, which helped in stimulating muscle protein synthesis — the process of making muscle. “They also help decrease muscle soreness from exercise, dance, training, etc as well as induced fatigue making Shraddha feel fresh, as her schedules were extremely hectic and demanding,” Praveen concludes.
