Kalki Koechlin is 5 months PREGNANT and has decided her child's name already; more details inside!Author : AZIndia News Desk
Kalki Koechlin, who was seen at the GQ Awards right yesterday, made a major revelation! The actress, who was last part of ex-husband Anurag Kashyap's production show Sacred Games 2, opened up about her pregnancy in an interview.
That's right! Kalki Koechlin has been pregnant, that too for five whole months! The actress, who never ever thought about motherhood, is finally ready to bring a new life into the world during her 30s with her boyfriend Guy Hershberg, who is a classical pianist from Jerusalem, Isreal, she revealed in an interview to Hindustan Times Brunch.
Many things changed after her wedding with director Anurag Kashyap, confessed Kalki in the interview. Further talking about how motherhood began, she stated, “Motherhood began with my brother, who is much younger than I am. I remember watching him come home from school one day, he must have been seven or eight, with a project on climate change and thinking ‘this is such a renewal of innocence’. Children take us back to the basics; remind us of what is important. Also, just wanting to experience pregnancy, of feeling this life grow inside you.”
The child would be multi-lingual and multi-cultural, since Kalki and Guy have French, Iranian and Israeli descent, with their cultural identity being in Aurovillian, Tamil, the Hindi film industry and Western classical music. Kalki only hopes to be an engaged parent, in order to connect with her child, rather than have a particular rule or expectation.
Further revealing that the couple has decided the name of their child, Kalki added, “I’ve chosen a name that works for either gender and that is representative of a gay person, because I want my child to have that freedom of movement under the many umbrellas of gender that we have.”
Kalki also mentioned the changes she saw in her during this stage of life. She mentioned, “I already feel the changes in the way I react to things. I am more deliberate, slower, more patient. When motherhood comes eventually, it brings with it a new consciousness to your sense of person. I still want to work but it is less about the rat race and more about nurturing oneself through one’s work. It becomes about infusing concentration and energy inward.”
Kalki, who is expected to deliver the baby by December, will go to Goa for water birth. She has already decided a local naturalist birth centre there. In case of an emergency, a hospital would be at 20 minutes distance.
