Rani Mukerji's Mardaani 2 is one of the most anticipated films of 2019. The movie is the sequel to Mardaani and Rani's role as fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy was one of the best performances of 2014. In Mardaani 2, Rani will be seen fighting a menacing villain who commits crimes against women. The first instalment was directed by Pradeep Sarkar while the second one is helmed by Gopi Puthren. 

Now, the makers of Mardaani 2 has unveiled a short teaser video of Mardaani 2 on the occasion of Navratri 2019. In the video, Rani along with her police force is seen entering the premise of a house and all set to win the case no matter what. In the next scene, she is seen beating the hell out of someone with a leash and kudos to her aggression in the scene. The video also showed the release date of the film.

Talking about the teaser, Rani said in a statement, "The film will see a female cop fighting an evil person to end crimes against women. As we all know, Navratri stands for the victory of good over evil all over India. Whether it is Goddess Durga defeating the demon Mahishasura or Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana, Navratri’s significance is key to this asset launch. So, we decided to start the journey of Mardaani 2 on this auspicious occasion."

While Gopi said, "Rani as Shivani will be seen in a massive showdown with a 21-year-old villain, who is an embodiment of pure evil. He is a dangerous criminal who targets women."

Mardaani 2 is releasing on December 13, 2019.
