Flashback Friday: When Shah Rukh Khan, TV host in 80s, recognised Kumar Sanu as 'one who sings in Kishore Kumar's style'Author : AZIndia News Desk
It's a known fact that Shah Rukh Khan started off his career from television. The superstar made his debut on the small screen with Fauji in the year 1988 where he played the role of Abhimanyu Rai. Since then, people fell for this charming young guy who went on to become a world-famous superstar. Talking about his earlier shows, he has also worked in Wagle Ki Duniya, Circus as Shekharan, Doosra Keval to name a few.
Today, we came across a flashback video of Shah Rukh as a television presenter on a musical show. In the video, dressed in a simple green shirt and grey trousers, SRK with a fellow female host welcomes Kumar Sanu. King Khan is seen saying, "Is Kumar Sanu the same person, who sings in Kishore Kumar's style?' but then female host tells Shah Rukh Khan that its widely said but Sanu considers Kishore Da as an inspiration. They then welcome Kumar Sanu on stage.
Earlier during an interaction with Rajeev Masand, when SRK was asked if he will be doing a web show or film, the superstar had said, "Nothing's been offered to me, I am a television actor. For me, the platform's never mattered. I would love to do it if there's something that excites me, even a film for Netflix, but nobody has offered yet."
Currently, Shah Rukh is gearing up to host the second season of TED Talks India which will be aired on November 2, 2019, his birthday.
