On Sunday, Ajay Devgn had teased about a new announcement of his upcoming film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. In the film, the talented actor will be seen playing the role of Subhedar Tanaji Malusare, who was the military leader of the Maratha Empire in the 17th century. He fought alongside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The actor had written on his Twitter page, "#TheUnsungWarrior @itsKajolD #SaifAliKhan @omraut @itsBhushanKumar @ADFFilms @TSeries @TanhajiFilm" Ajay had shared his excitement for the project as it has been an ambitious one for him.

Today, the actor took to his social media pages and posted his first look from Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. In the poster, Ajay is seen giving a fierce look holding his sharp sword with the backdrop of battle. He tweeted, "MIND that was as sharp as a sword... #TanhajiTheUnsungWarrior, in cinemas 10th January 2020. @itsKajolD #SaifAliKhan @omraut @itsBhushanKumar @ADFFilms @TSeries @TanhajiFilm"

Apart from Ajay, Tanhaji also stars Kajol as his onscreen wife Savitri Malusare and Saif Ali Khan as the main antagonist Uday Bhan. The movie is directed by Om Raut and is set against the backdrop of Battle of Sinhagad.

Earlier while talking about the progress of Tanhaji's shoot, Ajay had told DNA After Hrs, "Tanhaji is a film that has such a huge canvas." On working with Saif after Omkara, Ajay replied, "Saif is a fabulous artiste and a chilled-out fellow actor. Having him on set is always a pleasure."

The film is set to hit the screens on January 10, 2020. It will be clashing with Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak.
