Milap Milan Zaveri's latest directorial Marjaavaan hit the screens on Friday. The film has an ensemble cast including Riteish Deshmukh, Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. The movie is a violent love story and reunites Riteish and Sidharth on the big screen after five years as their first outing was Ek Villain released in 2014. Marjaavaan received mixed reviews from the audience and the critics.

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film got a decent opening by minting Rs 7.03 crore. He tweeted, "#Marjaavaan posts respectable numbers on Day 1... Mass circuits / single screens very good, contribute to the total... Metro multiplexes are ordinary... Multiplexes of Tier-2 + Tier-3 cities are good... Should witness growth on Day 2 and 3... Fri ? 7.03 cr [2922 screens]. #India biz."

Now, the second-day collections are out and Marjaavaan made about Rs 7.21 crore which is a slight jump from the opening day. He wrote, "#Marjaavaan maintains strong occupancy in mass belt/single screens on Day 2... Metros/multiplexes - average on Day 1 - remain in the same range... Biz should grow on Day 3... Eyes ? 22 cr [+/-] weekend... Fri 7.03 cr, Sat 7.21 cr. Total: ? 14.24 cr. #India biz."

This is Tara's second film after her debut with Student of the Year 2 which also released this year. While Sidharth and Rakul had shared screen space earlier in Aiyaary which hit the screens last year.
