Violent protests at Jamia Milia Islamia caught the attention of many people. While Hollywood actor John Cusack supported the protesting students of the University along with the Bollywood celebrities, South Indian film stars were not too behind either.
Parvathy and Siddharth were among those who spoke strongly against the Citizenship Amendments Act (CAA) protests at Jamia Milia Islamia University. They spoke up after videos from the protests made rounds of the internet, causing a roar on Twitter.
"These two are not Krishna and Arjuna. They are Shakuni and Duryodhana. Stop attacking #universities! Stop assaulting #students! #JamiaMilia #JamiaProtest," wrote actor Siddharth. Meanwhile, Parvathy called the violence 'terrorism'. "Jamia and Aligarh .. Terrorism ! #AligarhMuslimUniversity #StandWithJamia," she wrote while sharing a video from the protest.
Post the protests, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had tweeted, "I want to unequivocally assure my fellow Indians that CAA does not affect any citizen of India of any religion. No Indian has anything to worry regarding this Act. This Act is only for those who have faced years of persecution outside and have no other place to go except India."
