It's a desire of many fans to see Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan as parallel leads in a film. They made special appearances in each other's recent films like SRK played the role of a magician in Salman starrer Tubelight. While Salman danced with King Khan in a special song titled 'Isaqbaazi' in 2018 release Zero. Earlier producer-actor Nikhil Dwivedi told Mumbai Mirror that SRK and Salman almost agreed to do a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.

He had said, "Yes, it almost happened. Both SRK and SK had agreed to come together, we were excited about it. But I believe Mr Bhansali wasn’t very happy with the second half of the script and wanted more time to work on it."

Recently, when The Times of India, when Salman was asked about Nikhil's statement, the superstar said, "I think Nikhil Dwivedi and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are coming together in a film which Nikhil will be directing and Sanjay will be acting in it."

Meanwhile, Nikhil had co-produced Salman's recent release Dabangg 3 co-starring Sonakshi Sinha, debutante Saiee Manjrekar, Arbaaz Khan and Kiccha Sudeep. 

Recently, while talking to DNA After Hrs, when Salman was asked about Shah Rukh and Aamir, he had said, "It is not as if Aamir Khan or Shah Rukh are choosing bad or worse films. There are times when the movies I’ve chosen, to the best of my knowledge, haven’t worked. And then one film works and you’re back. SRK is a legend, as is Aamir."
