Samantha Akkineni is one of the few South Indian film celebrities who has been lauded for her experimental roles recently. Whether for Oh Baby or Super Deluxe, Samantha has undoubtedly taken up bold characters lately. She was even awarded for the same at the recently held Zee Cine Awards Tamil 2020.

While being awarded for Super Deluxe at the awards show, Samantha Akkineni went on to state, "I thought people would either appreciate or scold me for my role in the film. Thankfully, there were no criticisms. Working with Thiagarajan Kumararaja was a great experience."

Samantha played the role of Vaembu in the movie. The movie had four subplots and Vaembu's plot revolved around the murder of her ex-boyfriend during intercourse, and the consequences after her husband and a police officer find out the truth.
