'I didn't sleep the entire night': Anil Kapoor opens up about JNU attacksAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Anil Kapoor is currently busy preparing for his upcoming film Maland, directed by Mohit Suri and also starring Aditya Roy Kapoor, Disha Patani, Kunal Kemmu, and Elli AvrRam.
Yesterday to launch the trailer, the whole team except for Kunal graced an event during which Anil was asked about his opinions on the ongoing protests against Citizenship Amendment Act and the attack on Jawaharlal Nehru University on Sunday.
Speaking about the same Anil said, "I feel it has to be condemned. It was quite sad and shocking what I saw. It was very disturbing. I didn't sleep the entire night by thinking about it. I feel you will not get anything by being violent and whoever has done that should be punished."
As per reports, at least 20 people including JNU Students' Union president Aishe Ghosh, were injured after violence broke out as masked men attacked students and teachers and damaged property on the campus.
Recently, during a promotional event for Chhapaak, Deepika Padukone was also asked about the ongoing protests.
Deepika spoke up about the issue and accepted that she was proud that we as a society are not scared of standing up for something.
She said, "It's nice to see people coming out on the streets. I feel proud that people are voicing their opinion whether on the streets or from their homes."
"If we want to see any change in our life or our society, it is extremely important to keep all points of view on the table," she added.
