There have been several reports making the rounds about Shah Rukh Khan's collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani for his upcoming directorial. None of them neither confirmed the report nor denied it. However, the rumours are pretty strong and fans want the superstar to make an official announcement soon. It is also said that before Hirani's film, SRK will announce about starring in Raj & DK's directorial and also in Atlee's film. 

Now as per reports, Rajkumar's film is likely to be shot extensively in Canada, London and Gujarat. Moreover, the makers are yet to zero down the female lead and Kajol and Kareena Kapoor Khan are battling out for it. Talking about it, a source stated, "It will be interesting to see who is the final choice between Kajol and Kareena for Hirani’s next. Both are excellent actors, great on-screen and have had blockbusters in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Good Newwz."

Earlier talking about SRK-Hirani film, a source had told Bollywood Hungama, "Shah Rukh Khan has okayed filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s next. This seems to be a huge project and sets will be mounted by April or May 2020. Following this, the makers are looking for a 2021 release for the film. As of now, the cast and subject of the film are kept under wraps."

While another source told Mid Day, "People have been waiting for Shah Rukh to announce his next project after Zero. Shah Rukh and Hirani have been meeting for a few months to discuss this. It's almost finalised. Hirani will float his banner and will not [work] with Vidhu Vinod Chopra, as has been the norm. It's a romantic drama with a strong emotional cord running through; it's right up SRK's alley."
