Two films exchanging their release dates or one film changing the release date for the other movie have become a common phenomenon now. Earlier it was Akshay Kumar who announced that Bachchan Pandey will release in 2021, to get Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha a solo release on Christmas 2020. Recently, even Karan Johar and Dinesh Vijan announced new release dates of their upcoming films and re-shuffled it among themselves.

Now two movies have changed their release dates for an ideal theatrical release as stated by them. Ranveer Singh starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar has got its release date and it's hitting the screens on October 2, 2020. Before the announcement, Farhan Akhtar starrer Toofaan was slated to release on Gandhi Jayanti. However, the release date has been changed and will hit the screens earlier that is, September 18, 2020.

YRF tweeted about it by stating, "In the interest of both films and to ensure an ideal theatrical release, #AdityaChopra & @ritesh_sid have decided to release their films on different dates. YRF will release #JayeshbhaiJordaar on 2nd October and @excelmovies will release #Toofaan on 18th September 2020. @RanveerOfficial #ShaliniPandey #ManeeshSharma @divyangrt"

Talking about Jayeshbhai Jordaar, the film also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Boman Irani and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles. It's directed by debutant Divyang Thakkar.

While Toofaan marks the reunion of Farhan with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur as the female lead.
