Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Sardar Udham' gets a release date
Vicky Kaushal is all set to be seen as revolutionary Udham Singh in the film titled Sardar Udham being directed by Shoojit Sircar. For the uninitiated, Udham Singh was the one who assassinated General Michael O' Dwyer for ruthless Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919. The shooting for the film took place in Russia, London, parts of Ireland Germany and also India. Vicky's first look from the sets was also unveiled by the makers last year.

Now, the release date of Sardar Udham has been announced and it's set to hit the screens on January 15, 2021. The film is Rising Sun Film Production, produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar. For now, the movie has got a solo release as no films have been announced for that date.

Earlier while talking about working with Shoojit in Sardar Udham, Vicky had told ANI, "It's a surreal feeling because it's like a dream come true as I am finally getting to work with him. I have always been a big admirer of how Shoojit sir looks at his stories. The way he is looking at the character (Udham Singh) and the world is extraordinary as well as beautiful. Honestly, that's something that will take time to sink in."

While Shootjit said, "If you look at Vicky's track record, he is taking brave steps and making some fabulous choices. I wanted an actor who is ready to give his heart and soul to the film. Plus, he is a Punjabi boy and my film is a story of a Punjabi man. So, in many ways, he turned out to be the obvious choice."
